FLOX Anniversary Celebration 2022
In August 2022, FLOX Studio got to do one thing we cherish so much: be in community with the people we love.
FLOX Studio’s two-year anniversary was only possible because of all of the people that supported us, so it was time to dance, laugh and hold some space for celebration.
We went big! (instead of going home). Our bash was complete with a comedian, great music, delicious soul food again, and even picture stations.
To show what community in practice looks like, we even had some collaborative, fun activities!
Care Building - We used Legos to show what parts of our lives we felt cared for in (e.g. food, loved ones, work, etc). Play can be fun and informative!
Care Cards - In the hustle and bustle of life, we forget to TELL people that we care about them. We had mailable postcards so people could pause and write a message to a loved one.
Social Care Prompts - We’re all about ideas here at FLOX but also the action and imagination. Through color-coded cards, we went straight to the source (our community) to ask them what FLOX could to do social justice work with care. Topics included gender liberation, protecting democracy, and economic and racial justice.
Having our FLOXiverse all together gave us a chance to feel the sweet growth and progress of the studio as well as cast a hopeful look toward the future as we continue to build it together.
